United Against Cancer proudly presents the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life 2013 at the University of Toronto! 

 

The Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is more than just a fundraiser. It is an opportunity to get together with family and friends and celebrate cancer survivors, remember loved ones lost to cancer, and fight back in the hope of finding a cure for this terrible disease. Relay is fun, fulfilling, and your participation gives strength to our mission to eradicate cancer. Walk with us in this inspirational 12-hour overnight event as we come together and fight to make cancer history.

 

Come join us at the University of Toronto’s own Relay for Life event to be held from March 8 at 7 PM to March 9 at 7 AM at Brennan Hall/Quad at St. Michael’s College!

UAC Relay For Life

United Against Cancer will be hosting our annual Relay for Life 2012 in collaboration with the Canadian Cancer Society. The Canadian Cancer Society Relay For Life is a celebration of survival, a tribute to the lives of loved ones and a night of fun, friendship and fundraising to beat cancer.  Relay For Life involves teams of 10 people who participate in a 12-hour overnight non-competitive relay. Teams consist of students, teachers and staff, family members and friends. The money raised by participants collecting pledges helps the Canadian Cancer Society to continue the fight against cancer by:Every year United Against Cancer host’s University of Toronto’s Relay For Life on campus. This year we are holding our 12-hour relay in February 2012. Sign-up a team, donate/sponsor an exisiting team, or volunteer with us by visiting:  UAC Relay For Life This year we are very fortunate to have Dignitas Youth U of T St. George Chapter, U of T Campus Lions Club, and many other student groups getting involved with us. Time: 9am-9pm

We have a great line-up of entertainment and volunteers for our 12-hour event. St. Michael’s College, SMC Improv Team, will be there to provide a line-up of improvised comedy (Seriously, they’re hilarious). Free henna tattoo by Party Impressions. 12-hour will never be in awkward silence with our DJ’s from Magenboys Entertainment. Food sponsored by Pizza Pizza, Pizza Nova, Boston Pizza, and…baked and other cooked goods by our own volunteer team! Highest fundraising team, most spirited team, and much more will be winning prizes during the day. This is certainly an event that you don’t want to miss especially during reading week when you have no classes!

To register, follow these simple steps:

1) Register a team of no more than 10, or join an existing team online at: http://convio.cancer.ca/site/TR?fr_id=10706&pg=entry

2) Have friends, family, and whoever you can to pledge you to relay at our event. You can have your fundraised money updated online or you can do this offline by getting a pledge form from us. Send us an e-mail at: uac.club@gmail.com and we’ll reply back almost instantly to give you the pledge form!

3) Arrive at the event and don’t forget your pledge forms and money!

4) Have fun with the fun-filled day that we have in store for you. (You won’t have time to be bored. Honestly!)
